Overview
Abigail Laubscher is a compassionate and experienced Registered Counsellor based in Brackenfell, Cape Town. Practicing under AR Counselling, she is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and holds additional qualifications with the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF) and the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
Abigail earned her BPsych Honours from Pearson Institute and later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education through UNISA. She brings a wealth of experience from both educational and therapeutic environments, currently serving as a School Counsellor at Table View Primary School while running her private counselling practice.
With advanced training in play therapy, narrative therapy, trauma counselling, and psychoeducation, Abigail supports children, adolescents, and adults with emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs. She has facilitated therapy and development programs across public schools, special needs institutions, and community organisations including Community Keepers, BADISA Trio, and ACVV Maitland.
Her approach is holistic, inclusive, and grounded in evidence-based methods. Fluent in English and Afrikaans, Abigail also supervises intern counsellors and is actively involved in school-based support teams, workshops, and wellness campaigns. Her passion lies in creating safe, supportive environments where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive.
